It was quite cool when we set off. Kintbury crossing provided the first break of the day, but soon we were on the interminable climb into the mist and up Walbury Hill - tough climb!

Good descents and further climbs followed, until we made it into the valley of the dry tributaries of the Test, where the pace rose nicely in the flatlands under Andover. For about 30 minutes before lunch, the sun graced us with her presence, and stayed with us for the rest of the ride. Lunch at the craft centre cafe at Weyhill, was a rather splendid affair, although, no all-day breakfasts were on offer.

After lunch we undulated like anything, stopping or the first ice cream of the season at Great Bedwyn, and then further undulated our way back across the ridges at Poughley and the Goodings. Nick commented that the ride "kept giving" - it was remorseless!

Another splendid midweek outing... roll on the next one.
