The plan had been to set off at 7:15 to beat the heat, but Team Hotel preferred an early-morning faff. With disk pads replaced and various other faffage, we finally met Team AirBnB half an hour later.
It was already hot. We had a supermarket stop for pain au raisins (lots) and cracked on. The first part was largely flat, and then we had a bit of a climb followed by a sweeping descent into Clarensac, and then a better way into Nimes, visiting the Jardins de la Fontaine, and the brutal climb (walk) up to the Tour Magne.
Cold drinks and ice-creams followed next to the Arene, and then a magical mystery tour including a tiered water feature (see pics).
A few climbs on the way back where at Poulx, we decided to divert so that Pete could play tourist at Pont du Gard, which we did, while Andy had a swim. More cold drinks and more ice-cream followed, and then we took the Voie Vert (old railway line) back to Uzes for refreshing beers.
Top day, but massively hot!
