Sociable leisure rides for enthusiastic cyclists
Fourth Sunday – A morning ride starting from Wantage especially aimed at welcoming new riders to the club. The ride will be Blue grade and may include a refreshment stop en route or at the end of the ride. Expect to be back around 12:00.
Today we will head out towards Lambourn with a little extra loop. the stop will be The Café Lambourn. returning home via sevenbarrows.9:09 pm
Summer Wednesday – Weekly evening ride from Wantage at either Blue or Red grade, which will complete before sunset. We will have a variety of paces and terrains across the summer season.
A long-ish one tonight over to Besselsleigh, with short-cut options should we need them, but bring lights to make you visible "just in case".
The worst hill is as we leave Wantage, so expect to maintain a reasonable pace, if the group allows.
We're heading off to North Wales for a weekend to take advantage of the middle of the summer.
The general plan is to camp or B&B at Bala on Friday and Saturday evening, and do two hilly 100km rides on the Saturday and Sunday. Routes to be finalised, but expect to visit Blaneau Ffestiniog and Lake Vyrnwy.
We will provide details of the chosen campsite, and bookings will be your responsibility, as will B&B if you choose the luxury option. It may be possible to organise transport sharing, if travel plans align nicely.
Please let Chris know if you'd like to come along, or have any questions.
This will attempt to follow the route of the old Tour of the Cotswolds audax - last run, I think, in 2012. [GPS route below is for guidance only!] We are hoping to reinstate this event in 2018. It is a hilly, picturesque route visiting many beautiful Cotswold locations. And even a ford! Start is at Hilltop Garden Centre, Ramsden [OX7 3AS] – which is open from 9 for those wanting a pre-ride coffee or breakfast. Lunch at the Cotswold Farm Park, Guiting Power.9:20 pm
