A misty morning in Hampshire but no visibility issues throughout the ride.

We took the sneaky route out of Winchester via Winnall and onto small quiet lanes. The autumn colours were fantastic and there were several beautiful lanes through the Beech woods and lined with golden rusty trees. Several times we were riding alongside small chalk streams.

We took a coffee break at West Meon, very busy with cyclists so there was a small delay in service but not too bad.

After the break we had the lumpy section including Beacon Hill which was a narrow, well surfaced lane on a steady gradient. Quite long but a pleasant climb.

Phil suffered the first Corallian puncture shortly afterwards which was swiftly dealt with.

We took the lovely traffic free route via Hockley Viaduct back into Winchester where we dumped the bikes back in the cars and grabbed lunch nearby.

A fantastic autumnal ride :)
