Well that was a lovely ride - into the Cotswolds for the first time this year.

It was breezy as we ventured westwards on the undulating spring line road. And then we turned north through Uffington and picked up the strong tail wind. It blew us all the way to Boughton-on-the-Water.

We had a sunny but relatively uncrowded lunch before the climb to Upper Rissington - helped by the last of the favourable wind. The return leg through to Burford was scenic as ever, but as the compass of our route turned so the wind increased.

At this point we adopted a disciplined formation - thanks to Chris and Andy for their staying power on the front. This helped us through the more exposed sections of our route.

We were back in Wantage by three, with time to relax at King Alfred's Head.
