From a slightly chilly start we got pushed along by a helpful tail wind and made excellent progress in a tight 2x4 formation for much of the way to Woodstock. Jez entertained us when he got involved in a life or death struggle with a stowaway earthworm but, despite running off the road, he managed to come out on top and still upright. At Woodstock 4 of us sat in the warm sunshine in front of the Star Inn, listening to the church bells and enjoying a full English ( 10/10). The rest of the group used the Blenheim Buttery Cafe directly opposite the pub and also reported good grub. Back on the road a group of supercar drivers embarrassed themselves with a dreadful display of poor driving, overtaking us into blind bends and at one point forcing an oncoming car off the road, only to turn off 500m further along. Turning west it was a battle into the wind and up the long drag at Finstock. But turning south, and after a quick in flight refuelling at Brize Norton, it got easier. Several weary but happy riders rolled into Wantage.
