Three of us set out on this lovely crisp morning in bright sunshine and 2degC. The first half of the route was hilly enough to keep us warm and by the time we had climbed out of Compton up Apple Pie Hill layers were being removed. From Streatley all the way to Wallingford the scenery is splendid, in burgeoning woodland at first, then opening out to sweeping views. We stopped to admire the Maharajah's well then found that Stoke Row Stores cafe was closed (lesson: don't believe TripAdvisor) but it was no hardship to continue on to Wallingford for a cafe stop there. Lots of other cyclists were out plus we crossed the paths of two sportive events along the way. Thanks to team Stokell for the good company which contributed to this really lovely day out. I will probably run this route again later in the year, it's to good not to.
