Winter Wednesday - Lechlade via Akerman Street

That felt decidedly autumnal. A stiff north-westerly wind and evidence of the previous night’s rain made conditions challenging on the outward leg. The lanes from Clanfield through Filkins and Eastleach are delightful, and once we turned at Hatherop the tailwind and well-surfaced straight roads meant we screamed along to Lechlade. Lunch was taken at the Lynwood Café with some excellent sourdough toasted sandwiches. The hills at Coleshill and Badbury Clumps slowed progress a little but the remainder of the ride was straightforward and we were back in the Market Square by 2.15. Rehydration for all in KAH with fond reminiscence of Hector’s House. Thanks guys for taking so much of the wind, and for waiting for me on the hills!
