Beautiful morning for early November, a flat, easy route, but strangely only five of the die-hards turned up! It was however a very sociable, chilled out ride. Faringdon Coffee House proved to be a a very pleasant coffee stop (Indonesian food also available!) with several tables outside. A couple of (slightly) more elderly gentlemen paused to quiz us on the origins of "Corallian" and related topics. We were sitting next to the tourist office which is housed in an old Pump House and were puzzled by the carving of a deep sea diver (see photo) and the inscription: "Mistrust a man who never has an occasional flash of silliness”. (Subsequent google search revealed that this depicts the events of a summer day in 1936 when Salvador Dali in full diving suit trudged through the market square (Ref https://www.fdahs.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/revised-faringdon-history-walk-in-walk-order.pdf).

On return to Wantage we managed one notable achievement with the ride: 100% attendance in the KAH beer garden for post-ride discussions!
