A warm sunny evening and the promise of a flat ride brought out the crowds. As always with such a large group, ride-management was tricky at times, particularly through the busy section between Steventon and Abingdon. Once that was done, better discipline prevailed. The low sun made visibility difficult in the latter stages but the descent through Charney was entirely in the shade and felt blissfully easy.
