Wednesday Ride - The Cartshed

What a fabulous and enjoyable ride :) though the name should be Benson bedlam. :o

It all started so well - sunshine, tailwind - and we covered 17 miles in the first hour. One of the riders, who had recently had a Covid vaccination and may have felt some residual fatigue, invoked the clause in the recently issued Riding Etiquette booklet to adjust the pace.

Then it started to go pear shaped ...
1. We found The Cartshed was closed, but we went to the delightful Number 25 Café in Benson, well known for its generous portion sizes.
2. We went off track in Wallingford taking the narrow Croft Terrace, which dead ended, but we found our way back onto St John's road.
3. Without warning the ride leader went off the planned route towards Upton, while some others stayed on the GPS route. After some faffing, and a few phone calls we eventually regrouped at the junction of Chilton Road and Hagbourne Hill.

The rest of the ride was incident free and we ending up at KAH (beer) reflecting on the fun that we had had and how we, as four experienced ride leaders, might have done better.
