I was busy in the market place as we left Wantage but the roads were soon quiet. Although there was a strong breeze from the SW it didn’t really hold us back and once we turned right at Fernham we had a lovely tailwind until Libby got a puncture.
The flint was removed quickly but the tyre was reluctant to go back on the wheel which delayed us a bit so we decided to cut the ride short so that we could enjoy a drink in the pub.
As we arrived at Alfie’s a large group in front were going into the pub on a Wantage tour to view the cellars that connect all the pubs in the Market Place. We didn’t see them again so I’m not sure where they reappeared.
