Just three of us for what is always an excellent ride. The roads were mucky around the area of the surprise wall at West Compton, and we headed onto the levels with Glastonbury Tor barely visible through the misty murk.

A coffee stop in Cheddar was most welcome before the climb, and Nick was absolutely flying up it. Always satisfying because the further up you go, the easier it gets, Cheddar wasn't too tourist infested, so it was really quite pleasant.

The fantastic descent down to Chew Valley Reservior was very much enjoyed, and as we settle in to our picnic lunches, the rain also decided to settle in.

Post lunch, we "enjoyed" the three short, sharp leg-and-lung-busters, and made it back to Shepton Mallet with mucky bikes in good time - a splendid day out
