What a glorious day for a ride! Seems like the first time in ages that a ride was enjoyable because of the weather rather than despite it. We were escorted out of town by Louis for a few km before he peeled off to take a flatter route, his recovery is obviously going well. Next stop was Three Trees Cafe where the bacon & egg cobs are marvellous. In an unexpected twist, there were rumblings that the flapjacks were TOO BIG
Fuelled up we took on the three major climbs of the day, starting with the 17% in places Round Hill, without too much trouble. It just feels easier with the sun on your back and chasing your own shadow up the road. After a brief sightseeing pause in Aldbourne we finished the ride with a nice pint in the Fred's Head garden. Smashing day.
