Sociable leisure rides for enthusiastic cyclists
An extra ride - something very different from the normal Corallian rides. There will be plenty of Birmingham and Black Country industrial history on display, and a chance to explore the urban but still very natural environment around the most extensive canal infrastructure in Europe.
Firstly, this is not for normal road bikes - a mountain or gravel bike with robust tyres will be needed as the ride is predominantly on canal towpaths with a few stretches of rougher surface. Secondly, good lights will be needed for the tunnels (including the epic 1.6 mile Netherton Tunnel).
Suggest parking at QPark in Brindley Place, and car sharing is strongly suggested to drop the cost of travel and parking.
No stops are pre-planned - we will stop as and when makes sense.
Final point, please let Chris know if you intend to come as soon as possible. This is not a route that lends itself to large numbers, so we may have to cap the number of riders.
