Wantage market place was bustling with people setting up for the Christmas market, but where were the Corallian cyclists eager to undertake the annual Mince Pie Ride? Eventually three hardy souls turned up. The weather was fine as we headed out to Baulking with a slight tail wind. As we reached Woolstone, the sky got darker and rain started. At Uffington we decided to head straight for the White Horse Hill, the South Westerly wind got stronger as we hit the bottom of the hill, we all made it up safely and at the top were greeted by strong gusts of wind. We joined all the other cyclists who had battled the elements and we enjoyed our mince pie and mulled wine while catching up with various fellow cyclists. The weather was not conducive to spending too long stationary so we headed back down the hill with some caution and along the Spring Line towards Wantage, turning off to Westcot, Sparholt & Childrey to avoid as much as possible the cross wind. Thanks to JT and Louis for joining the ride, which to be honest wasn’t the most enjoyable but we earnt our Christmas Dinner afterwards.
