The first full-on summer ride of the season
The early arrivals took advantage of the shade from King Alfred's statue in the Market Place. We set off through Grove and as we turned eastwards at Hanney we felt the force of a steady easterly. We kept a tight formation benefitting from those at the front - special mention to Chris and Nick S.
Wittenham was clumpy and then we descended into Wallingford, where we enjoyed some refreshments and chat. The return journey was straightforward and we were in the shade at the back of King Alfred's Head's garden by 1:30.
