The skies looked a bit ominous and right on cue, the first drops fell as the clock struck 10:00. Great to see the return of Pete today, raring to go but a little rusty.

Rain jackets came on and off a couple of times and we had to battle a decent headwind for most of the way to the coffee stop at the Carpenters' Canteen.

Right on cue, again, while we were indoors, the worst shower of the day came and went, not affecting us but it did leave plenty of evidence on the road surfaces.

It was a much nicer return journey, and there may have been some wind assistance to push us along.
