Seven started out from Wantage Market Place on a slightly drizzly morning.

We set off for Oxford and dropped one rider in Garford, who returned home safely. The weather brightened up as the remaining six rode on to North Hinksey and then into Oxford where we delighted in the cycle paths well separated from road traffic.

We followed the riverside path from Osney to Kennington, taking care to respect other cyclists and numerous pedestrians as well as a few joggers and dogs. From there it was a swift run into Abingdon where we took coffee and cake. Another rider dropped out here with errands to run and a direct route home.

Five rode onto Peep-O-Day Lane and then through on roads to East Hendred. The route through to Ginge and then Lockinge was almost car free before the run into Wantage.

Four of us retired to Alfie's for a quiet drink reflecting on an enjoyable midweek ride.

Thanks for the company.
