Welcome Ride - Winter Wallingford

We always go at the speed of the assembled riders.
On a still day, the opening flat section was covered at an average of 27.5 kph with all riders taking a turn on the front. This included two 'hills' - railway bridges at Grove and Appleford. We then slowed on Sires Hill and stopped in Wallingford for coffee.
The return leg took us through the delights of South Moreton and Aston Tirrold before negotiating a route through Didcot's Great Western Park and on through Harwell. This was taken at a more leisurely pace with pauses to regroup.
The only lowlights were two white cars that inflicted close passes on us.
These will be unambiguously illegal when the updated Highway Code comes into effect at the end of January. 
Assorted refreshments were taken in Alfie's including a nice pot of tea!
