What a difference a day makes! Five of us cycled out via Letcombe in glorious sunshine, with a light south easterly breeze, to the sound of skylarks and yellowhammers. Simon joined us just before the climb up to Sparsholt Firs, so then we were six.

An executive decision was made to try out The Little Shefford (the coffee bar attached to The Great Shefford), so an earlier than planned refreshment break saw us sitting to the garden next to a pretty little river enjoying our drinks and snacks. Unfortunately, this did mean Pete had to forego his anticipated bacon butty which he had lined up from the Saddleback Farm Shop. Sorry Pete!

The sun continued to shine as we made our way through the countryside, and the breeze assisted our descent back in to Wantage, with some rather impressive top speeds being achieved. These were discussed as we all sat in the garden for our post-ride drink at the King Alfred's Head.
