The earlier rain had finished well before we left the Market Place at 6-30. Two new riders joined us tonight, Drew Hodgson and Andy Kaye and I left the rest of the group to make introductions to group riding and signals.

I had deliberately chosen a flat route but hadn't expected such a strong headwind on the route down to Shrivenham but thankfully I was helped by Richard, Ian and Rachel so we still managed to keep up a good pace.

Pam punctured near Fernham so the rest of the group had a break as Chris provided assistance. Paul appeared from the direction we were heading in and stopped for a chat. He had just missed us in Wantage and had inadvertently done the route in reverse. He left us and the rest headed off to Shrivenham and a tailwind back to Wantage.
