Good to see David McMillan riding with us again on a guest appearance. A blustery wind made for hard going over to Hungerford. We were briefly delayed while Paul carried out some ad-hoc roadside wildlife management. The Honesty Cafe was closed, so we reverted to The Tutti Pole who efficiently delivered food and drink. The return leg felt much easier with a tail wind. The climb up through Crooked Soley is a delight and there were wonderful views from Sheepdrove. A great group of riders to "lead" [i.e. I was at the back most of the time!]. It was quite hot by the time we were back in Wantage so some obligatory KAH rehydration was required.
