Seven of us gathered in the sunshine

in the Market Place.
We set off along the A417 towards Uffington into a stiff westerley - it didn't seem to slow us down. The rolling spring line road through to Ashbury and Bishopstone to Wanborough did slow us down and we needed a few stops to regroup. Everywhere we went we seemed to encounter horses - they added to our stops.
Elevenses were taken in the sunshine

at Three Trees in Chisleden and, fuelled up, we stretched our legs from Foxhill to Baydon. The descent into Lambourn was taken with care before the last hill of note - the slog up to Sparsholt Firs.
