Four of us turned up on what was a cold morning, but dry. Pete was ecstatic as he was on his newly purchased gravel bike and some of the route involved some cycle tracks!! We made it to Savages in reasonable time, but had to sit in the outside tented area to enjoy our coffees and cakes – just as we were ready to leave an inside table came free, but it was time to hit the road. The cycle ride back to Wantage via Harwell, Steventon, The Hanneys and Grove was at a strong pace. Pete went home while the remaining three of us enjoyed a drink at the King Alfred’s Head.
