Great to see a good turnout of nine for todays ride. Well done Nick & Andy for riding over to the start in Uffington.

The sun came out, which encouraged a moderate pace and plenty of chat, so a sociable and incident free ride ensued. Well, almost incident free - Paul B was somewhat traumatized at the cafe when his food order was overlooked and he had to watch the rest of us tuck in. He handled it better than I would have done and he got served in the end. Despite this the cafe, Jennies Kitchen in the heart of the Cotswold Water Park, gets a thumbs up for its excellent breakfast foods and also for the amusingly brusque (in a Fawlty Towers style) service. This included Paul J being pursued into the carpark by the proprietor and falsely accused of not paying.(giggle)

After the cafe we were back on lovely quiet lanes heading towards Swindon, including a most pleasant long and smooth section closed to motorized traffic. My routing through the northern most suburbs of Swindon took advantage of the excellent new cycle paths there. This map reading challenge baffed a few but those paying attention managed OK. We soon regrouped for a smooth roll to the finish.

Congrats to Chris who passed the milestone of 200,000m total climbing on club rides during the ride.
