Tuesday Morning Ride - Trindledown (or maybe Saddleback!)

Ride Category
Four riders started together from the market place (including Phil, not yet available on the Rider List (to note John!). We hung around for a couple of minutes waiting for Pete who said he'd catch us up. Fortunately the ride leader set a slow pace, which continued long after Pete joined us at the base of Sincombe Hill looking resplendent in new thermal bib tights. It was again a cold, drizzly morning but with only a light wind and plenty of hills to keep us warm we made decent progress through Lambourn and to Great Shefford.

An early morning email had confirmed that Trindledown Farm Cafe is only open Fri - Sun 1000 - 1400 over the Winter season so we slogged up to an almost empty Saddleback Cafe. Despite our arrival coinciding with the post-breakfast/pre-lunch period we found some pretty good cakes to accompany our coffees.

The drizzle eventually stopped and the skies brightened a little by the time we returned to the square where post-ride pictures were taken. Two of us felt we had earned a Guinness. Excellent effort from everyone on a pretty tough Winter's ride.
