Only two riders on a cloudy morning with drizzle threatening. Uneventful ride out to Abingdon (R&R) - the drizzle arrived on the way back but never amounted to much. Pleasant ride - thanks for your company Richard.

Lovely ride out to the always good No.25 cafe in Benson, although a fairly brisk easterly wind meant we were battling into the wind for most of the way there.

It was nice to see Jan for the first section as she joined us until Drayton.

Some nice rarely visited lanes around Stadhampton and Berwick Salome and then a typical route back through Cholsey and Aston Upthorpe.

Nice ride. The route is very peaceful & picturesque, but be warned, the road surface is quite bad for much of the way. Doable on a road bike (we did it) but would be better on a gravel bike.

A ride of two halves. Super tailwind on the way out and slightly harder on the return!

The climb up Chain Hill with a strong cross-headwind was a most unpleasant start (for most of us!) but thereafter the wind did not bother us too much and we also managed to avoid a few rain showers that were flashing across later in the morning. Bagnor looked as pretty as ever and various breakfasts were enjoyed at the Tutti Pole. The return ride was notable for near misses with a sizeable herd of deer that shot across the road in two waves just after passing through Straight Soley and a red kite later on. We all made it safely back to the market square just before another shower hit. Thank you everyone for a very enjoyable ride (and waiting for me).

The sun was shining and the legs were exposed. There was a brisk breeze helping us out to Yarnton so we knew what to expect coming back. The Yarnton garden centre was busy due to the Easter holidays but we all eventually managed to get refreshments. The ride home was along some not so familiar roads. Overall a very pleasant ride.

A lovely spring day with the help of a westerly wind took us via Hanney, Sutton Courtenay and the Moretons to the Oxshed cafe in Cholsey.

A new stop for all of us and definitely worth visiting again...nice coffee, good section of food, friendly service and an overall nice community cafe vibe.

Heading home was a bit more challenging...into the wind, a few more hills to navigate and for Richard the additional headache of no gears on the homeward leg!

With the advancing hour it was an early feeling start for this Vale loop out to Lechlade. A tough headwind on the outward leg was rewarded with some great wind assistance after coffee in Lechlade. Managed to overlap with the tail end of the Wantage half marathon close to home.

The recent few days of warm spring sunshine unfortunately disappeared, but at least we had a dry ride together with a bit of a chilly and reasonably strong SW wind.

Four of us explored some well known and lesser travelled lanes across the ridgeway to Hampstead Norreys via Fawley, Boxford and Chievely.

Coffee, cake and service was as usual great at the community cafe, which was also celebrating it's 15th birthday this week...a pretty amazing achievement given it is run by volunteers.

More ups and downs on the way back via Compton, East Isley, Stanmore and Lilley together with a growing blustery wind which was "interesting" coming down Chain Hill.
