Summer at last! We started with four and finished with four at the market place - in between we picked up Richard (punctured on the ride over), Ben (just a bit late!) and John who sneaked up Sincombe Hill before us. Louis, rejuvenated by his holiday, set off at a cracking pace up to Sparsholt Firs where we re-grouped and met a group of Mickey Cranks (anyone wanting a go at Track Cycling at Newport on 16 October - drop them a line!). After a rare visit to the Ashbury Footbridge we back-tracked to check coffee availability in Shrivenham. Hinton Marsh Farm Shop on the High Street had a couple of tables available and supplied the requisite coffees and cakes (breakfast baps were available!). A relaxed peloton headed back to Wantage via Fernham and Denchworth, minus John who had not fully recovered from recent illness and preferred to return on his own. Richard peeled off before Denchworth and Ben headed home at Grove. Two (who shall remain nameless!) of the remaining four indulged themselves in a sprint up Mill Street.
Let's hope we get a few more rides in good weather - make hay while the sun shines!
