Six riders on a windy morning with heavy showers expected later on. The strong wind drove us Northwards and to the top of Foxcombe Hill. After coffees and cakes in R&Rs, still without rain we headed back via Culham and Sutton Courtney where Nick D dropped off. Richard left us at Hendred and the sky looked rather dark towards Wantage. NCN 544 provided a traffic-free and better than expected surface from E Hendred back to Ardington at which point waterproofs were donned as the rain finally arrived. After a drenching by a second much heavier shower on the approach to Wantage, hot showers at home proved more of a draw than the pub. Pretty successful ride overall!
