The first ride after Christmas was surprisingly popular, with 8 turning out. After the briefing the excuses started coming out “too many mince pies”, “recovering from a cold”, “haven’t ridden for a few weeks” etc. We made a leisurely start out through Denchworth, onto West Hanney and then Appleton before descending into Abingdon for a coffee at Costa, it appeared to be the quieter of all the coffee shops – not sure that was the case. Louis carried on for some home commitments. After coffee, Andy made his own way back home while the remainder of the group made our way back to Wantage via Steventon, West Hendred, Ginge and Lockinge. Chris took the “cleaner” route back and got the drinks in at the King Alfred’s Head. We managed to miss the rain which came later.
