Good news everyone! Despite the weather forecasts being adamant that we would get serious rain during the middle of this ride, we never saw a drop. What we did get though was a fairly stiff south-westerly. In a prearranged move, John peeled of at Watchfield to enjoy a shorter route while the rest of us carried on to The Cricklade Club at, you guessed it, Cricklade. This turned out to have a nice atmosphere and a good selection of brunch choices. After some hearty nosh we set off again to enjoy a 30km leg with the wind right behind us. This allowed us to do a low altitude fly-by of Fairford Airbase where lots of activity was going on in preparation for the Air Tattoo this weekend. Inevitably we had to turn into the wind again for the final 20km but we persevered with our usual sangfroid. Cheeky pints were had in the Fred's Head at the end.
