A good turnout (7) for a sunny Tuesday morning ride. We had three of the new elected committee members on the ride so no pressure on the ride leader!! The route out to Brightwell-cum-Sotwell incorporated a few Cycle-Ways, some better than others and one not finished as Pete will attest to! We arrived at the Root 1 café and wheeled the bikes through the garden centre, but were informed that they have now fitted some bikes rakes around the back (sufficient for 8 bikes), so for the next visit these should be used. Refreshments were enjoyed outside and Nick announced it was his birthday so he was duly wished “Happy Birthday”! The trip back to Wantage took us along the Icknield Way from East Hendred to Ardington. As it was Nick’s birthday drinks were in order at the King Alfreds Head. An enjoyable morning ride on what will probably be the last warm day of the year.
