The return to warm and sunny weather coaxed ten riders out for a sociable ride today. All went smoothly except that, on a couple of occasions, I was so distracted by the banter that I almost missed two turns (doh). The flat first half and the sunshine encouraged the chat and we seemed to get to Blake's Kitchen in no time. Their signature cinnamon buns were as good as ever. The bacon butties and sausage rolls went down well too. Well fuelled as we were, we dispatched the hillier second half with ease and, after pausing briefly in Faringdon square to admire the unusual deep sea diver statue, we headed back to Wantage where several of us took refreshment in the Fred's Head. This is what retirement is all about!
