A good turnout on a sunny, if a little breezy day. The route took us out through West Challow, Sparsholt, Westcot, Kingston Lisle and then onto Fernham, Gainfield before arriving at Munch in Southmoor. A well-earned refreshment was enjoyed while sitting outside on the picnic tables. The shortest route back to Wantage took us through the Hanneys, with a strong tailwind most of the way progress was quick. There was however a slight sting in the tail, with the only “official” hill being Grove Park Drive (Lain’s Barn) and a sneaky climb up Lark Hill. “Pigeon” Pete was determined to make use of his gravel bike so he rode through the back garden at the KAH to secure a table for refreshing drink at the end. An enjoyable ride at a respectable average pace of just over 25 km/h.
